I think this is what gave me the final push to talk to my bishop and start my papers.

Last Sunday at our stake mission prep class (which is taught by my roommate along with another RM, and is much more effective than the one I am enrolled in with the school) we were doing role plays with RM’s and pretending to be teaching a member and inviting them to come unto Christ *Which is the missionary purpose. While my companion and I were getting to know our teachee (who was pretty much a model Latter Day Saint, he was his Elders quorum president and was doing pretty much everything right in living the gospel) and trying to help him “Come unto Christ” we couldn't really find anything until all of a sudden the thought of attending our conveniently located temple came to my mind. I asked him if he was attending the temple regularly and he said that he hadn't been to the temple for over 3 months. As I talked with him about making a commitment to attend the temple that week I could see his eyes getting a little bit misty eyed and I couldn't help but join him. This was the first time I actually recognized that I was teaching by having the Spirit talk through me and it was a pretty amazing feeling. I think this is what gave me the final push to talk to my bishop and start my papers. I realized that no matter how unprepared I feel to serve a mission, all I really need is to prepare as best I can and rely on the Lord. D&C 84:85 “Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.” By the way, neither me or our teachee cried, but the spirit was very strong and it was a very positive experience that made me want to have more experiences like it.
